work must begin...
...well after screwing around for the past couple weeks either hanging out with the gang, mucking around in the swamps of florida, or anything else but real, actual work, it is coming time to switch gears. i am thinking that one good day of work will do for this week since some friends are throwing a party on thursday and others want to hang out on friday, and of course saturday will be the (first of the season for me) football game festivities.
all that being said, i don't think my new research job actually encourages progress towards my degree seeing as so far (yesterday) it has involved tearing down a computer lab and setting it up again in another lab. this project also included some fun activities such as soaking up some spilled sample water (probably from some wetland) with an excessive number of paper towels (doesn't seem to green to me), recklessly transporting vats of sulfuric acid, deconstructing what looked like a droid from Episode IV, and smashing giant cockroaches. yeah, perhaps some day i'll get back on track. all these fun experiences also contributed to my Panchero's burrito (1 of 2 for the day) getting almost too cold to eat, and that is just tragic.
i guess for now i'll plan on watching that Rescue Me episode that was taped last night, i ended up falling asleep and waking up at the end credits. priorities.
i'll also be transitioning the infamous quote list from the AIM away message to here since there is no limitation with space and this way i can misrepresent many many more people. <:><
