life in the information age...

note: this is a LONG one!

yeah, information travels fast these days...sometimes i think word of mouth can be just as fast as email, phone calls, or instant messages. it is surprising to me how quickly information can travel and become distorted/revised/replicated amongst people, and i think a lot of you know what i mean.
overall i find it quite entertaining, and just figured i would comment. along those lines, i guess i'm also somewhat of an information junkie, as with most situations, i like to know more than the other person/people, maybe its the competitive side (of which the david's possess an acute affliction) coming out, but i like to be well aware of my surroundings, who i am talking to, etc etc. so far being a junkie in that sense has not failed me, although it does lead to fewer real surprises in life, but you'll have that.

moving right along, i will share with you this excerpt/entry from sarah's LJ regarding the recent party at the tank (aka 'Tank III'). i found this entertaining, and you can check it out if you like (it also leave less that i have to write for this particular entry) :

later that night zac and i headed out to ann arbor to hit up "the tank 3" (aka solo's 3rd big party). i was rather interested as to how this party was going to be. i have never really been to a party like this with my brother, so i was very intrigued at how it was going to go. i was surprised that he was finally bringing me out of lockdown and introducing me to his friends. i guess they always ask about me, but he hides me for some reason. ahh well.
well when i entered the apartment, the first thing solo said was "well there's food, there's coke, sprite, and vanilla coke to drink....and i guess some other stuff. but who's driving home????"
so that was funny. i guess he's the older brother and had to do the responsible thing for awhile. :o) thanks solo!
well i met the whole crew which surprisingly was rather entertaining. everyone was really cool and nice. although i don't think solo likes the idea that some of his friends are already wanting to plan a 21st birthday party for me at the tank. haha!
well a few rum and cokes later, i actually got to be an honorary member of the infamous team bowfin. we lost round one, but came back in the second. my favorite part was when solo turned to me and said "hey punk, you better not screw this up!" (classic competitive david spirit).
if you want to see pics you'll have to check out: www.eamericanus.blogspot.com

oh and i will say that damon referring to zac's shirt as hogwarts attire was probably the funniest thing he's ever said.
to wrap things up, it was a great time, and i think definitely a brother/sister bonding experience. (sorry to get cheezy).

well to quote george costanza, 'worlds have collided' and sarah has now met a lot of my friends here in ann arbor. good times...it will be interesting to see how the next party at the tank goes as MAYBE even rachel (aka townie) will show up...

just a few more quick notes as i am getting pretty tired:

i recently joined that facebook thing, and it's sort of like a blog/yearbook sort of thing...i know most of you know what i am talking about, but i am starting to get overwhelmed by these time-wasters. how can one get anything done when there is so much 'nothing' to do? i am going to have to put the blame in this case (because obviously i am not at fault) on erin and a diabolical (or would that be delusional) duo which will be known as "the 86'ers". the last thing i needed was another time-wasting activity to prevent me from doing work. needless to say there are a few more stories behind this, but those will have to wait for another time.

if you are a part of facebook feel free to look me up as i'll probably either be updating this blog or my facebook profile for the rest of my life. maybe my dissertation can cover this BS instead of fishes...

speaking of fishes i need to turn off the lights in one of the tanks downstairs.
ok i'm back.
alright well i'm obviously too tired to put any more into this blog, so i will leave you with a few quotes/comments from the past day or so:
=

Me: well i need to go home and get some work done
Julia: you mean work on your blog?

=

AJ: what do i use again, is "AIM" AOL Instant Messenger?

=

Sonya (while doing the universal nerd motion of pushing up the phantom glasses) : you can check out the pics on my blog!

=

Me: we've decided to collectively call you two the "86'ers"
Meghan: well then i guess that would make you two the "******" --edited for content.

=

Andy: what do you think about Big 10 burrito?
Me: they are trash. their tortillas are like paper towels, not the cheap paper towels, but the good ones. if you want cheap paper towel tortillas, go to taco bell.

=

AJ: like you had nothing to do with any of that...
Me: yeah right, that's my thing now, breaking & entering.

=

Me: the logical conclusion is that i need to find this other solomon david* and kill him.

=

ok i will leave you with a nice group shot from Tank III courtesy of Sonya, you can see more pics and comments about the party in her blog. wow, this has been a long entry! i need to get to bed so i can get up early and head to the dungeon tomorrow morning. Guten Nacht und Tschus! <:><

group shot from Tank III: (L-R) me, kara, AJ, brian, katie, hal, josh, julia, janine, damon

*more on this in an upcoming entry.
