prologue to the past (weekend that is)...
what an insanely eventful and randomly exciting weekend! unfortunately its 9:45am and i have virtually no time to talk about it right now. why was this not updated earlier you may ask? because i actually fell asleep for a few hours last night while reading some journal articles for discussion this week. yeah, i woke up around 3am (i know, that should be around the normal time for me to go to bed or start emailing the majority of my friends) and had this paper in front of my face and knew it was time to turn in at that point.
so here i am a bit earlier in the morning making a quick update before i go into the U to proctor the first exam for my parasitology students. that should be interesting in and of itself, since the first exam always comes off as quite challenging.
i've decided to revisit the quentin tarantino method i used a couple months back in describing recent events in a three-part series (trilogy if you will, but not necessarily) and doing it out of order, a la pulp fiction. the brief rundown is that we went out for damon's birthday on friday, and this was prefaced by going to BW3 on thursday AND followed up by going to BW3 on saturday. either way, there will be a massive break from going out taken until this friday when more insanity (as usual) will develop.
aside from falling asleep reading articles yesterday, the day was also unusual in that i did two things i have not done in quite some time: went running AND cooked. yeah, i told my sister this over the phone (explaining why i didnt call her back earlier in the day) and she made it clear that she didnt buy my story and that i should have come up with some better excuses. either way, i'll get into that later. so far i don't feel the effects of my quick 3-mile excursion yesterday, but we'll see as the day progresses. now that i'm part of Michigan's 'get active U' program (through the school) i pretty much have to get back on track with running (and we'll see what else i can fit in).
ok that's it for now, i'll update later since i actually have to make it to parasitology on time today. hope you all had a good weekend...i believe damon is still passed out somewhere between BW3 and north maple road <:><
random pic:
this is where we will be staying on our trip to Atlanta to visit the Georgia Aquarium over spring break. it's the westin peachtree plaza, and one of the tallest hotel buildings in the world. i would have rather stayed at (or in) the aquarium itself, but they hung up on me when i made such a request...oh well, maybe next time i'll tell them i'll bring my own scuba gear and they will reconsider.

Ooohh--nice hotel. Make sure you check out the revolving restaurant/bar on the top floor....I'm pretty sure it's still there AND revolving, so you get a nice view of the city.
Say Hi to Atlanta for me!
