two down, one to go...all this w/o red bull so far...

well at least they had some fish system examples in that last paper. my how time flies when you are reading relatively asinine commentary with excessive jargon used to explain relatively common-sense systems in ecology...but without journals like this, what would PhD's really have to do other than talk about p-values, ostracize themselves, and listen to NPR (oh wait, everyone in SNRE does that last one. shoot.)

anyway, kara's friend nick suggested i check out the comic "PhD: Piled Higher and Deeper" sometime back and i had commented that it was definitely hilarious and worth the reading (moreso than most journals) for any grad student. once again he had referenced the latest one on kara's blog and i must say its pretty amusing in terms of the 'real world' vs. the 'grad student world'...i don't know where i fall in all of that, but it's generally further from reality than most people. here's the link to the latest comic, and i would recommend checking out the others if you get the chance (or like to make time to waste time) --

in other news...wait, there really isnt much other news since the latest entry (and all the stuff i am behind on updating) was only two hours ago. well i have been drinking a lot of Fruit2O...i swear every time i buy a big crate of that stuff its gone in a week. water intoxication here i come. ok back to the grind. <:><
